Molly Madden, BA, Theater and Education
Molly grew up in Montana where she worked for a decade as a mentor and organizer of youth and teens. Her formal education in Missoula, Montana and Santiago, Chile produced a BA in Theater and Education, with a special focus on Theater of the Oppressed as well as other popular education models facilitated through the arts.
Molly’s community development work has ranged from directing public art projects with teenage moms, to facilitating Jackson Katz’s Mentors in Violence Prevention gender-violence prevention and media-literacy in public highschools, to the foundation of Active Now, a teen-led social activism forum based on the techniques of Augusto Boal.
Molly currently lives on a small ranch in Chiapas, Mexico where she participates in equine-assisted therapy for kids and young adults. She is a nature-holic, a musician and artist, and an advocate for farmers and cooperatives.
