Mara worked with my son Quinn during his 7th and 8th grade years. Quinn has a communication disorder, and while he is high functioning in many ways he needed a lot of support with social interactions. Mara placed him in her advisory class with peers who also needed the same guidance.

Through her structured activities and with her nurturing personality, Quinn and his peers became close friends and learned social skills that many of them were able to transfer to situations outside of the activities. He still uses the calming strategies he learned from her six years later.
